UAC increased their capacity to offer informal support to African immigrant

community members who may be experiencing dating, domestic or family violence,

connect them with services or other resources, and promote increased awareness of

services offered by Community Violence Intervention Center. UAC identified African

immigrant community members to be trained as legal literacy volunteers to provide

supportive services, training, and awareness to African immigrant community members.

UAC received training from Community Violence Intervention Center and provide

feedback on the trainings to ensure they are culturally responsive and relevant to their

communities. These activities were in compliance with the Family Violence

Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), Final Rule, 45 CFR Part 1370.
